Have a "networking notebook" and a pen handy to write down key details about the connections that you make. Remembering specific things about people shows interest in the person when you follow up.
FOLLOW UP! FOLLOW UP! FOLLOW UP! The fortune is in the follow up. Making the initial connection is great but if you don't put in the effort to follow up on the connection you have wasted your time and theirs.
This is completely optional, but having some type of freebie to offer the attendees is a great way to build your email list. You can place your links in the chat while you are in the main room.
Dress professionally. Even though this is a virtual event, first impressions are lasting impressions.
Make sure you are in a quiet space with no distractions. Create a professional environment conducive for success.
